How We Diagnose HVAC Repair

Every HVAC repair we do in St. George follows the same four steps. Nothing is guessed.

How we diagnose HVAC repair: manifold gauges measure the refrigerant circuit

Step 1: The Phone Call

We ask what you hear, see and smell, how old the system is and what you’ve already tried. We tell you the arrival window.

Step 2: The Measurements

Technicians use manifold gauges for refrigerant pressures, a clamp meter and multimeter for electrical readings, thermometers for temperature drop and a manometer for airflow. We compare readings to the manufacturer’s specifications, not to a guess.

Step 3: The Explanation

We show you the failed part or the reading, and explain it in plain words.

Step 4: The Repair and the Test

We repair and test under load. We note anything to watch, separated into “fix now” and “keep an eye on.”

What We Won’t Do

  • Add refrigerant without finding the leak
  • Pressure you into a same-day replacement

Refrigerant work is regulated: the EPA’s Section 608 program sets the rules for technicians who handle it.
